I have a few questions on the rules. Excuse me in advance if the topic is already covered in the rulebook.
1) The pool does not include points made in the playoffs, right? 2) How will the initial draft be conducted? I am curious to know how much time will be allowed between each choices, as it will impact my preparation before the draft. 3) How many rounds will there be in the prospect draft?
Cheers!

Playoffs are not included. Points are accumulated from day 1 of the regular season to the last day of the regular season.
The draft will most likely be 12 hours per pick. If you miss your pick, the next guy chooses and when you come back on, you can make the missed pick. Hopefully everyone can check in routinely so the pace is fast.
The first prospect draft will be 10 rounds. Every year we have a prospect draft and they will be 6 rounds.

I have a question surrounding the prospect and draft picks. Am I correct in the understanding that there is a prospect draft that is above and beyond the 12, 6, 2, active roster and 8 farm? So basically you can own prospect above and beyond the 28 players we draft? If you could clarify that would be great.
Also, it looks like there is 6 draft picks each season. Do these have to be prospects that are from the current NHL draft year, in which case you can actually have these 6 additional players not counting towards the roster of 28? Are you able to pick a player not from the current draft year, or is that all done through Free Agent signings?
Thanks.

Yeah, there is a 28 round inaugural draft. Prospects can be taken in this but remember it hurts your depth obviously. Then there is a 10 round prospect draft. 2010 prospects CAN NOT be taken in the inaugural draft (28 rounds) though.
There are rules about prospects in the rulebook. But they can be kept for 4 years (skaters, 5 years for goalies). No maximum for prospects. But once you call one up onto your main team, you can't send them back down to your prospect team.
Prospects are anyone that has played less than 25 games (skaters), 20 games (goalies) and in property of an NHL team.
You can pick someone from any year as long as they meet the game requirement.
